Third Project

 


I started my second project, but couldn't help it, I saw these birds and decided to work on them as well.  This is a Cardinal.  Unfortunately, I've already had trouble with the head piece breaking unexpectedly.  I need to cut my pattern again so I can recut the missing piece.

Cleaned Up and Testing Fit

  I was so excited to see this piece come together.  It's been a very slow process, but I'm learning, and Rome wasn't built in a day.  Unfortunately, while cleaning and removing the vinyl pattern pieces, one piece flew out of my hand, hit the floor and then cracked into 4 tiny pieces.  So, two steps forward, one step back as I recut, grind and clean my busted piece.

Second Project

  I've chosen this cute squirrel as my second project.  After starting it I realize this may not be the best choice since it has all kinds of curves.  I guess I simply need to look at it as a way to improve my cutting and grinding skills.  I've already improved my skills with the grozing pliers.  This little guy is missing his cute little scarf.  Looks like I misplaced the vinyl pattern pieces.
